Akash Srivastava

I’m a Senior Engineer / Tech Lead with 10 years of experience building large-scale systems, working at the intersection of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and real-time platform engineering. At Amazon Web Services, I set the technical direction and architecture for real-time voice and ML inference systems that power Amazon Connect.

My work is the architecture behind low-latency, highly available services at global scale — multi-region systems built for serious concurrency and demanding production workloads. I lead the design of new platforms, the re-architecture of legacy ones, and the scaling, fault tolerance, and deployment foundations that keep them reliable. I operate across team boundaries, shaping long-term technical strategy and raising the engineering bar for how these systems are built.

Earlier in my career, I spent several years at Amazon Marketplace building large-scale, high-throughput seller systems on a service-oriented architecture.

I care about the hard parts of systems engineering — latency, reliability, cost, and the long-term architecture that lets platforms keep scaling. I’m also a Hiring Bar Raiser with 300+ interviews under my belt, and I’m passionate about mentoring engineers and raising the hiring bar across teams.
